A product may be sold in two ways. Either it can be sold individually or you could group a couple of the goods together and sell them in a packaged form. The advantage of having grouped products is that in one sale, you are actually selling three of the products offered by your company. This not only makes it a great deal for you, but it is also an excellent way to attract customers. The best thing about grouped products is that it does not affect the sale of your individual products. The customer can still opt for one of the products and leave the rest if he wants.
Now the question arises, how can you create Magento 2 grouped products? Well, the answer to that has been discussed in a step by step manner below.
Step One: Get Started
You need to enter the admin panel available on your e-shop and select the Products option. From there, you make your way to the Catalog. When you go to the catalog, you will find a triangle that reads “Add Product” and a drop down menu will show you the option of grouped products.
Step Two: Creating a Grouped Product
Before making a grouped product, you need to first create single products that you wish to add in your group. Once you are done with that, it is time to create your group. Click on the grouped product option you saw in step one, and give a name to your group. Once you’ve filled out all the necessary details, an option on the bottom of the screen will allow you to add products to your group.
Step Three: Choosing Your Products
This is the easiest step. All you need to do once you click on the add products option is to check the product you want from the list of single products you created in step two. That is pretty much it. You have created a Magento 2 grouped product all by yourself.
There are some things you need to keep in mind when working with grouped projects in Magento:
- There is no price option in a grouped product. The price is basically the sum of the prices of the individual products.
- The option of having a configurable grouped product is also available where the customer has the choice to pick and choose between different products to create their own group according to their needs.
- Although you are able to set the availability of the group product itself, the inventory of the products added in the group is catered to separately and needs to be managed separately.
- The last thing that you need to know is that the group does not appear as one product in the cart. It is actually displayed as different products that make up the group. This part of the Magento 2 grouped product can be a little confusing for customers at times.
